Number One and the crew of the Enterprise fight a strange disease while investigating the disappearance of an Illyrian colony in this episode of Strange New Worlds.
Genetic modification is a theme common to all eras of Star Trek. In “Ghosts of Illyria,” Strange New Worlds” gets its turn to open the discussion and comment. When an away mission to Hetemit 9 to investigation a failed Illyrian colony is threatened by a storm, Commander Una Chin-Riley (Number One) and most of the away team beam back to Enterprise. However, the storm prevents Captain Pike and Spock from joining them. Shortly thereafter, a bizarre infection breaks out on Enterprise and Number One’s secret past comes out as part of the solution. Also, another crew member is harboring a secret that directly contributes to the crisis. We discuss the details of another great episode of Strange New Worlds on this episode of Warp Trails.
