A rogue member of the Qowat Milat is stealing dilithium from Starfleet. Burnham and Tilly must join other members of the Qowat Milat to investigate.
Starfleet and the Federation have been generous in sharing the dilithium they have harvested. Their allies, the Vulcans and Romulans for Ni’Var, are getting close to joining the Federation. Therefore, a bit of a crisis arises when a rogue nun from the Qowat Milat attacks and kills a Starfleet officer delivering dilithium to Ni’Var. Given the delicate political realities, Michael Burnham is assigned to work with her mother, also a member of the Qowat Milat, to bring in the rogue nun. Can they put aside their opposing positions to successfully get this job done?
In this episode, we discuss:
- Gray receives his new body, and he is guided by Adira,
- Tilly is stuck in a rut and assigned to this mission to help her cope,
- Stamets has a new theory on the anomaly destroying worlds and must present it to the Science Council on Ni’Var,
- Booker is still grieving, but receives a chance to relive a memory that might help,
- Whether the Qowat Milat are perhaps a bit arrogant in their philosophy,
- A strange new alien race at the heat of the rogue nun’s lost cause, and
- Some of the politics behind the ultimate conclusion of this episode.
