The crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos plays IT support for a world computer while Mariner, Tendi, and Rutherford rebel against some new officer hazing in the latest Star Trek: Lower Decks.
This week’s episode of Lower Decks sees the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos attempting to assist the world of Corazonia with the ancient super computer that runs their world. When Captain Freeman’s attempts to update the system go awry, the crew has to think fast in order to save the entire world. The newly promoted Boimler is leading his own away team on this mission, and he struggles with the burden of command in classic Boimler fashion. Meanwhile, just when Mariner, Rutherford, and Tendi think they have a day of leisure ahead of them, their trip to the anomaly room is interrupted by a seemingly menial task beneath their rank. Tendi immediately suspects a hazing ritual? Is she right? We’re breaking it all down in this episode of Warp Trails.
In this episode, we discuss:
- The IT nature of Captain Freeman’s mission to Corazonia to fix Vexilon,
- Lieutenant Boimler’s first away mission as the commanding officer,
- Provisional Lieutenant T’Lyn’s role as part of Boimler’s team,
- Rutherford, Mariner, and Tendi’s task of scanning isolinear chips,
- The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine deep cut references in this episode, and
- What might have made this episode of Lower Decks just a little better.
