In these two episodes from Volume Three of Visions, a bounty hunter and her droid choose doing the right thing over profit and an orphaned child learns of her legacy.
Our discussion of volume three of the Star Wars anime series, Visions, continues with a look at “The Bounty Hunter” and “Yuko’s Treasure.” In “The Bounty Hunters,” Sevn must navigate her own conscience, a high paying bounty, and her droid partner’s wants when dealing with a contract to subjugate a local resistance. Then, in “Yuko’s Treasure,” an orphan under the care of a bear droid finds herself on the run from pirates as she learns of her family’s legacy. We’re breaking down both these episodes in this edition of Podcast Stardust. We’ll get into the good, the bad, and the ugly for both and talk about how they did or didn’t work for us.
In this fully armed and operational episode of Podcast Stardust, we discuss:
- The animation styles of “The Bounty Hunters,”
- IV-A4, a medical droid with an assassin droid protocol,
- The banter between Sevn and IV-A4,
- Sevn’s heart of gold,
- Some The Clone Wars and Attack of the Clones homages in “The Bounty Hunters,”
- The art style of “Yuko’s Treasure,”
- Whether “Yuko’s Treasure” works as a Star Wars story, and
- Other issues with “Yuko’s Treasure.”
