In the first episode of the second season of Light & Magic, George Lucas and Industrial Light & Magic take viewers behind the scenes of creating the special effects for The Phantom Menace.
In the first season of Light & Magic, Ron Howard directed a documentary that chronicled the rise of George Lucas’s special effects house: Industrial Light & Magic. That season of the documentary series relayed the history of ILM as they pioneered many of the special effects that audiences take for granted for movies that were released in the 1970s and 1980s. In the second season of Light & Magic, Joe Johnston takes over as the director. In this season, he picks up the story after the release of Jurassic Park to theaters and how the technology developed for that movie evolved and made Star Wars: The Phantom Menace possible. In this episode, we are exploring the first episode of season two of Light & Magic and sharing our favorite moments.
In this fully armed and operational episode of Podcast Stardust, we discuss:
- Our overall thoughts and reactions to the first episode of the second season of Light & Magic,
