In this Star Wars “what if” style story, Luke Skywalker doesn’t survive his injuries on Hoth, and it is up to Han Solo to find Dagobah and Master Yoda to save the galaxy from the Empire.
In this episode of Podcast Stardust, we are continuing our look at the “What If…?” style stories that Dark Horse comics created for Star Wars in the early 2000s. In Star Wars Infinities: The Empire Strikes Back, the initial twist on the story is that Luke Skywalker doesn’t survive his injuries and the freezing temperatures on Hoth after he is attacked by the Empire. Before he dies though, he is visited by the Force ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi and instructed to find Yoda on Dagobah. In his delirium, he passes that message to Han Solo before dying. From there, the story diverges from the classic tale Star Wars fans have known for decades. Join us on Podcast Stardust as we break down this story and how it integrated classic Star Wars story beats with new ideas.
