We take a look at a classic “What If….?” style story set in the Star Wars universe that explores how the story might have unfolded if Luke Skywalker didn’t destroy the Death Star in A New Hope.
Marvel isn’t the only entertainment franchise that has dared to ask “what if?” Star Wars also explored alternate realities way back in 2001 when Dark Horse comics released a limited series known as Infinities. A four issue story arc was released for all three original trilogy films. In each arc, one detail was changed and then the story unfolded from there. We are starting a short series discussing the Infinities comics with this episode. First, we’ll tackle Star Wars Infinities: A New Hope. What happens when Luke Skywalker’s torpedoes don’t destroy the Death Star? Download this episode and find out as we dive into the details.
In this fully armed and operational episode of Podcast Stardust, we discuss:
- A brief history of the Star Wars Infinities comics from Dark Horse in 2001,
- The set up for the story in which Luke Skywalker’s torpedoes don’t destroy the Death Star,
- What happened to Leia after the destruction of Yavin IV,
- Luke and Han Solo’s trip to Dagobah to find Yoda and how Han related to Yoda, and
- The final confrontation between good and evil on Coruscant.
