Charles Soule’s Shadows of Starlight fills in the year between Phase 1 and Phase 3 of The High Republic and we are breaking it down in this episode.
Let’s kick this week’s round of Star Wars discussion with some more comics from Marvel. We are taking a look at The High Republic: Shadows of Starlight by Charles Soule. This collection of stories fills in the one year gap between Phase 1 and Phase 2 of The High Republic. The Jedi Council must take drastic measures to protect the Jedi from Marchion Ro, the Nihil, and the Nameless. They issue the Guardian Protocols which change the way the Jedi operate for the first time in generations. Meanwhile, Avar Kriss and Elzar Mann struggle with the death of Stellan Gios. While Avar heads to the Occlusion Zone, Elzar works with Chancellor Lina Soh. On Eiram, Bell Zettifar won’t abandon looking for Burryaga, and then later can’t adjust to the restrictions the Jedi have placed on the Order. Finally, Marchion Ro has his own thoughts on what the Nihil should do after the fall of Starlight Beacon, and Ghirra Starros isn’t really onboard.
In this fully armed and operational episode of Podcast Stardust, we discuss:
- The issuance of the Guardian Protocols by the Jedi Council,
- The return of a surprise character from Edge of Balance,
- Avar Kriss and Elzar Mann’s grief after Stellan Gios’s death,
