We continue to celebrate Return of the Jedi’s 40th anniversary with a discussion of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, and the droids first encountering the Ewoks.
It is time to return to our year-long series celebrating the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi. The Rebels have arrived on Endor, but despite their best efforts to deceive the Empire, they have not got unnoticed. Darth Vader knows Luke Skywalker is there, and he brings this to the attention of his master, Emperor Palpatine. Although surprised by this development, the Emperor is confident he and Vader can turn young Skywalker to the dark side of the Force. Meanwhile, Luke and Han Solo become concerned as they search for Princess Leia. Then Chewbacca’s stomach gets the best of them and they fall into an Ewok trap.
Anthony King from Force Ghost Conversations and Craig Dickinson from Reading Between the Reels join us for this conversation.
In this fully armed and operational episode of Podcast Stardust, we discuss:
- Darth Vader informing the Emperor that Luke Skywalker is on Endor,
- The trap set by the Ewoks and whether Chewbacca should have fallen for it,
- The return to Bright Tree village and how the Ewoks nearly roasted Han Solo,
- C-3PO’s recital of the Rebel adventure to the Ewoks, and
- Luke telling Princess Leia that Vader is his father and she is his sister.
