We explore nine new anthology stories from animations studios all over the world in Volume 2 of Star Wars Visions.
Another season of Star Wars Visions has arrived. Volume 1 featured nine stories from anime studios in Japan. This time, Lucasfilm commissioned stories from studios all over the world. Studios from Europe, Africa, South America, and more all contribute to the anthology this time. In this episode of Podcast Stardust, we are taking a look at all nine stories in Visions Volume 2. We share what worked for us, what didn’t, and what our favorites were. Each studio involved had a unique vision (pun intended) and Star Wars fans are treated to a diverse array of stories.
In this fully armed and operational episode, we discuss:
- Lola’s desperate fight against her former Sith master in “Sith,”
- Daal overcoming fear to face a banshee in a cave in “Screecher’s Reach,”
- Two orphaned sister making a last stand against the Empire in “In the Stars,”
- Ani’s teenage right of passage in handling an embarrassing parent in “I Am Your Mother,”
- An anime tale of trying to cut the dark side of the Force off at its source in “Journey to the Dark Head,”
- A French Resistance inspired tale in “The Spy Dancer,”
- A brother and sister fleeing for safety on a train in “The Bandits of Golak,”
- A dark tale of miner’s abandoned in a Kyber mine in “The Pit,” and
- The story of a youngling that can purify Kyber with song in “Aau’s Song.”
