In part four of our year-long series examining Return of the Jedi, the Emperor arrives at the Death Star, Luke visits Master Yoda, and the Rebel Alliance plans their assault.
With the defeat of Jabba at the Sarlacc pit, act one of Return of the Jedi comes to a close. As act two begins, Luke bids farewell to Han, Leia, Lando, and Threepio in order to make a trip to Dagobah to keep a promise to an old friend. Meanwhile, the Emperor arrives at the Death Star and discusses Darth Vader’s interest in Luke Skywalker as they set a trap for the Rebel Alliance. Elsewhere in the galaxy, the Rebel Alliance plans their assault on the Death Star. This segment of our year-long series discussing Return of the Jedi examines the scenes that set the foundation for the rest of the movie.
