We ask what if the Jedi had ignored the Prophecy of the Chosen One and how the galaxy and the saga might or might not have turned out differently.
When Qui-Gon Jinn met Anakin Skywalker on Tatooine, he believed he encountered a convergence in the Force. So strong was Qui-Gon’s belief that he announced to the Jedi Councel that he would take Anakin as his padawan learner when the Council refused to train Anakin. In Qui-Gon’s mind, Anakin was the Chosen One – a mythical person prophesied to bring balance to the Force. Even on his death bed, Qui-Gon made Obi-Wan Kenobi promise to train Anakin because he believed so strongly in the boy. But, what if Qui-Gon had acquiesced to the Jedi Council? What if the Jedi Council decided the risk was just too great and no Jedi was going to train Anakin Skywalker regardless of whether he might be the Chosen One? We ask these questions in this episode of Podcast Stardust and explore some of the possibilities of how things might have turned out differently or the same in the Star Wars galaxy.
