Tessa Gratton and Justina Ireland kick off phase 2 of The High Republic with a tale of a Force cult known as the Path of the Open Hand in Path of Deceit.
Phase two of The High Republic kicks off with Tessa Gratton and Justina Ireland’s young adult novel Path of Deceit. On the world of Dalna, a cult known as the Path of the Open Hand spreads a message that “the Force must be free.” They believe that nobody should attempt to use or manipulate the Force, and doing so will result in catastrophes elsewhere. They are lead by a mysterious prophet known as the “Mother,” and the Jedi have their eye on her when Force artifacts go missing around the galaxy. This phase of The High Republic starts 150 years prior to phase on and puts in motion plot points that impact phase one and may not be resolved until phase three. Join us as we dive into phase two of The High Republic and examine the mysterious Ro cousins in this episode of Podcast Stardust.
In this fully armed and operational episode of Podcast Stardust, we discuss:
- The setup for phase 2 of The High Republic and how Path of Deceit fits in,
- The difference between the Path of the Open Hand and the Jedi,

- The mysterious Mother and how she manipulates the Path,
- Padawan Kevmo Zink and Jedi Master Zallah Macri and their investigation of the Path,
