A change in leadership at Disney features in this week’s news. We discuss what this might mean for Lucasfilm and Star Wars going forward.
Just when it looked like Star Wars was headed towards a quiet Thanksgiving week, the Disney Co. went through a major shakeup in upper management. Bob Chapek, the CEO, resigned at the request of the Board of Directors. His successor is someone that Star Wars and Disney fans are familiar with: Bob Iger, Chapek’s predecessor. In this edition of Podcast Stardust, we discuss what lead to Chapek’s downfall before turning our attention to what Bob Iger’s return may mean for Lucasfilm and Star Wars.
In this fully armed and operational episode of Podcast Stardust:
- The Defenders of Justice collection from Columbia (as an addendum to the last World Between Worlds image),
- The release of and reasons for Bob Chapek’s dismissal as the CEO of Disney,
- The naming of Bob Iger, the former CEO of Disney, as the new CEO of Disney,
- Some of Bob Iger’s prior achievements as CEO of Disney, and
- What Bob Iger’s return may mean for Star Wars and Lucasfilm going forward.
