Star Wars: Episode IX
A new actor has officially joined the Episode IX cast! Matt Smith, a former Doctor Who, will join the cast in a key yet unnamed role! Smith is just the latest among several newcomers, including Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant, Dominic Monaghan (of Lord of the Rings fame), and Naomi Ackie. Star Wars: Episode IX is currently in production in the U.K. and will hit theaters December 20, 2019.
Star Wars Resistance
Meet the team! A new peak behind the scenes introduces Team Fireball–a group of racers and mechanics that work together on a waystation called Collusus. The main character of the series, Kazuda Xiono (voiced by Christopher Sean), is a racer, but he’s also been recruited by the Resistance to spy on the First Order. Check out the the team and the familiar faces (BB-8, Poe, and even Leia) in the clip above. Star Wars Resistance premieres October 7.
DC Universe
DC Entertainment’s streaming service is almost here! It has been officially confirmed that the service will launch September 15. Fans will be able to watch shows such as Young Justice, Batman: The Animated Series, and classic DC films such as Christoper Reeve’s Superman. However, Titans won’t be set for premiere the day the service launches. Titans is being pushed back until October 12. Check out the DC Universe website, and preorder the service (if so inclined) for $7.99/month.
Star Wars: Scum and Villainy
New book alert! Lucasfilm’s one and only Pablo Hildago has penned a new Star Wars encyclopedia! Star Wars: Scum and Villainy — Case Files on the Galaxy’s Most Notorious highlights some of the most seedy, and interesting, characters in the Star Wars universe. The book is fully illustrated and details villains, bounty hunters, gangsters, and the like from the Republic, Empire, and New Republic.
