RetroZap’s Trailer Full of Trailers II

by Joseph Tavano

Special delivery! Here’s a ton of trailers from SDCC w/commentary.

Even if you didn’t get to go to Comic-Con, there’s still a ton of good stuff you can take home. Here, have a dozen trailers!

The following are listed in the order I find them important, generally.

The Walking Dead Season 6

I am really looking forward to this season. The Walking Dead has this way of feeling like it’s just getting started, no matter how long it’s been on the air. And truly, this show IS just getting started. There is so much story yet to tell.

Fear the Walking Dead

More from The Walking Dead? Ok!

Ash vs. Evil Dead

Ah, at last, more Ash, more Evil Dead. Army of Darkness is one of my all time favorite movies ever of all time favorites. Ever. I’ll never say no to Bruce Campbell doing what he does best.

Suicide Squad

I didn’t really care about this movie, or the characters, or any of it…until I saw the trailer. It looks like a lot of fun, and dammit, Jared Leto appears to have a lot of potential to be a great Joker. I’m really excited for this incarnation of DC baddies.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Speaking of being pleased with DC incarnations, this just looks awesome. Affleck is killing it as Batman, and I think Cavill is a fantastic Superman. I can’t wait to see where this story goes.

Outcast

More from Robert Kirkman? Sure! Kirkman’s done so much that’s right and not much that’s been bad, so he deserves all our attention. I think this is gonna be great.

Heroes Reborn

Let’s get real: every season of this show got progressively worse. It had nothing to do with the performances; the story was just not moving forward. Let’s hope that the season one magic is reborn, too.

The Man in the High Castle

This classic Philip K. Dick story is getting the serialized TV treatment. The pilot was did not go over well with many viewers, but I have high hopes for this one.

Into the Badlands

The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

This was one of those shows that was in syndication when I was a little kid, but just didn’t appeal to my Star Wars generation sensibilities. This trailer leaves those old trappings in the dust. I wonder if this is finally Armie Hammer’s big break. The guy’s name is Armie Hammer. He deserves to be successful.

X-Men: Apocalypse

If it wasn’t of terrible, leaked quality, this trailer would be much farther at the top. I am a HUGE fan of the Apocalypse character, going all the way back to his first appearance in X-Factor #6. He’s an amazing character with so much potential, and because there is such potential for him to seriously rip things up, creators have to use him sparingly. Well, it looks like his time has come for this generation, and I can’t wait to see him on screen.

However, he does look a little weird so far. I want those crazy blue lips, gray skin and hoses on his suit! With all the other characters finally getting accurate costumes, it would be odd to see him stand out in this way.

Deadpool

Finally, we have a super poor-quality Deadpool trailer. This movie is gonna rock; it’s just too bad we  can barely see it from this video. I don;t understand SDCC’s exclusivity policies anymore; They just don;t make sense in this day and age. It’s time for announcements at SDCC to be broadcast live, and for trailers to hit in high definition on YouTube as soon as they premiere. I may never get to Comic-Con, but at least I could enjoy the announcements.

Well, the trailer is fully unloaded now, so it’s time to hit the road. But, you know it’ll be back soon, jam-packed with…trailers for you to feat your eyes on.
