Podcast Stardust #860: McCallum on Star Wars Underworld – News

by Podcast Stardust

Prequel trilogy producer Rick McCallum shared some details on what would have been with the Star Wars Underworld series that George Lucas intended to produce in this week’s Star Wars news.

It is no secret that George Lucas intended to make a live-action Star Wars series in the 2000s before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney. The series was to be called Star Wars Underworld and would have had 100 episodes. Since these details were leaked to the public years ago, information has trickled out about the scope of the show. Recently, prequel trilogy producer Rick McCallum shared some more details about the show. In this episode of Podcast Stardust, we are diving into what McCallum had to say and speculate a bit on what might have happened to Star Wars if Underworld had been produced. After that, we cover additional news about Andor, Light & Magic, and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

In this fully armed and operational episode of Podcast Stardust, we discuss:

  • Rick McCallum’s comments on what Star Wars Underworld would have been,
  • What Star Wars would look like today if Underworld had been made,
  • A second season for Light & Magic,
  • Tony Gilroy on the introduction of K-2SO in season two of Andor,
  • The Mandalorian and Grogu updates to Smuggler’s Run in Galaxy’s Edge at the Disney theme parks, and
  • The arrival of the BDX droids at Disney Parks.
