Podcast Stardust #712: The Bad Batch: “Identity Crisis” & “Point of No Return” – 0310 & 0311

by Podcast Stardust

Dr. Emerie Karr wrestles with the treatment of Force sensitive children at Mount Tantiss, and the Bad Batch attempt to escape from the Empire on Pabu in the two most recent episodes of The Bad Batch.

The Bad Batch took a dark turn this week with the release of two episode: “Identity Crisis” and “Point of No Return.” In “Identity Crisis,” Dr. Emerie Karr is elevated to the role of chief scientist. With the new responsibilities comes the knowledge of what exactly is going on at Mount Tantiss and now she must struggle with that. We discuss the questions that are answered in this episode as well as the new questions it raises. In “Point of No Return,” the Bad Batch run out of time as the Empire comes to Pabu in search of Omega. When the townspeople are threatened, Omega makes a brave decision that sets up the remainder of the series.

In this fully armed and operational episode of Podcast Stardust, we discuss:

  • Whether Dr. Hemlock has another project going on at Mount Tantiss,
  • Dr. Emerie Karr getting promoted to chief scientist,
  • What is going on in the vault at Mount Tantiss with Project Necromancer and whether there is more than what the audience was shown,
  • Whether Omega is Force sensitive or not given the additional information we learn in this episode,
  • The appearance of Cad Bane and the abduction of a Force sensitive child,
  • The children that are treated as nothing more than specimens,
  • The CX Clone tracking the Bad Batch to Pabu,
  • Omega’s guilt over the Empire arriving at Pabu,
  • Hunter’s plan for escaping, and
  • Crosshair’s grief over letting Omega go to the Empire.
