Podcast Stardust #338: Rebels – The Holocrons of Fate – 0303

by Podcast Stardust

Maul returns and he wants the Sith Holocron. He is willing to sacrifice Hera, Sabine, and Zeb to get Kanan and Ezra to give it to him.

Just when it appeared that Kanan and Ezra had put the events of Malachor behind them, Maul returns. This time, Maul has Hera and the rest of the crew of the Ghost held hostage. However, he will free them if Kanan and Ezra agree to turn over the Sith holocron from Malachor and the Jedi holocron Kanan has been carrying with him. In order to meet Maul’s demands, Kanan must return to the Bendu, but he has Ezra with him now. The two must correct the imbalance between master and apprentice if they hope to save their friends.

In this fully armed and operational episode, we discuss:

  • The residual distrust between Kanan and Ezra that creates an imbalance,
  • Moments from this episode that resonate in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi,
  • Kanan surviving the vacuum of space,
  • The Bendu’s warning to Kanan and Ezra about combining the holocrons,
  • Maul’s surprising wish for what he wants to learn from the holocrons, and
  • What Ezra and Maul actually learn from the holocrons.
