Podcast Stardust #180: The Empire Strikes Back, Part 11 – I Am Your Father

by Podcast Stardust

In the final segment of The Empire Strikes Back, Darth Vader makes one of the greatest reveals in cinematic history as the heroes flee Cloud City.

Over the course of 2020, we have been discussing The Empire Strikes Back in segments to celebrate it’s 40th anniversary. Today, we reach the end of the film and one of the most iconic twists in all of cinematic history.

On this fully armed and operational episode, we are joined by Joe Tavano from Brews and Blasters, and we discuss:

  • Joe’s first experience seeing The Empire Strikes Back and his favorite moments and characters,
  • The climax of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker’s duel in Cloud City,
  • Whether Luke was at risk of falling to the dark side of the Force,
  • Why Obi-Wan Kenobi could not interfere in Luke’s fight with Vader,
  • How Luke knew to reach out to Leia through the Force, and
  • The closing moments of the film.

Thanks for joining us for another episode. Please subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts and spread the word to all of your Star Wars friends. May the Force be with you!
