ONE MILLION VIEWS!

by Joseph Tavano

Thank You! RetroZap has been viewed one million times, and I have a few things to say.

Wow…one million views in eight months. I know, I know–many sites get this traffic every day. But for this little site, it’s kind of a huge deal.

I started this website on October 6, 2014 (more or less), after a lot of thought and a few short-lived attempts, and I had no idea where it would be going. All I knew was that I wanted to

1. Test my skills and learn more about running a modern website.
2. Have a place to write about any and all the things I liked.
3. Make creative writing a daily part of my life.

And so, RetroZap hurtled into the world with very little fanfare. I didn’t even tell many friends and family for a while. It was a great time to experiment and refine. Chris Salton started The Collectors Hutt (which will always be supported on RetroZap), and shortly after we commenced with Brews and Blasters–a project we had been discussing for years. We had a lot of fun throughout the winter of 2014, which turned out to be the worst in the of Boston. If you told me then I’d be writing this post in the spring, I’d have laughed and sent you on your way.

Then things took a turn. I wrote an article that people seem to like, and BOOM–RetroZap was moving at lightspeed. I’ve had a chance to meet and to talk to people I deeply respect and admire. It has been a thrilling ride, and I am so grateful for all the support along the way. As time went on, I realized that the site could become something more than just my place to spout off – it could be a community; a platform where amazing writers and friends could publish their thoughts as well; now, RetroZap features six writers and four shows, with no plans of slowing down.

So, now what?

It’s time to march on toward two million! But, we’ll only get there with your help. If you like what we do here, take a second to let someone know about RetroZap. Share a link, retweet a post, anything at all–it’s more appreciated than you know.

Last, but certainly not least, there are a ton of people I need to thank:

First of all, Thank YOU. Thanks for reading, thanks for coming back, and thanks for your continuing support of RetroZap. This site is a labor of love, and your support makes it all worthwhile. A major, heartfelt thank you.

Also, a I’d be remiss in not saying thank you to these fine people:

My lovely wife, Kristen | Chris Salton | Bill and Amanda Gardner | Courtney Martin | Dennis Keithly | Mike MacDonald | Mike Audette | Joe Ryan & Bill Drewnowski | Riley & Bethany Blanton | Scott Ryfun | Jimmy Mac & Jason Swank | Steve Glosson | Josh Stolte & Stuart Tullis | Dan Zehr & Corey Clubb | The entire crew at Far, Far Away Radio | Sophia the Cat

Again, to every set of eyes that have looked at this little site, thank you. I can assure you, here at RetroZap, our resolve has never been stronger!

Onward,

Joseph Tavano
