Welcome to the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Location Scout, a series of articles looking at MCU filming locations, and sometimes, the in-universe locations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU for short.
For those of you not familiar with the MCU, it was created in 2008 with the arrival of the film Iron Man, and includes all the films released through Marvel Studios. It also is made up of the Netflix shows, such as Daredevil and Jessica Jones (5 series in all), as well as the ABC television series’ Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, and Inhumans. The purpose of these articles is to provide some behind-the-scenes information about how the MCU Map was created. Each location has been meticulously researched using any number of sources, and is as accurate as possible. Sometimes the location was found easily, with some luck, and other times, there has been a lot of research, and searching Google Maps for the exact spot which something was filmed. That’s the kind of stories you can find here. As we progress thru some interesting locations, hopefully you will see some places you might like to visit. You may also see some places that you recognize, but that we haven’t marked on the Map yet. We hope you’ll let us know about those as well. You can use the Map Image on the left to jump right in and explore the Marvel Cinematic Universe Filming Locations. Then stay tuned for more updates on how some of these locations were discovered. The Map is a work in progress so as the Universe grows, so will it. So for now, get your passport ready and strap yourself into the quinjet! We’re off on an exciting adventure. | |
