In honor of Ant-Man & The Wasp now being available for download, MCU: Location Scout goes back to school with a couple of locations used for Brookemont Elementary School.
LOCATION: Brookemont Elementary School (774 Virginia Ave NE, Atlanta, GA & 2890 N Fulton Dr NE, Atlanta, GA)
SHOW: Ant-Man & The Wasp (2018)
As with Ant-Man, the sequel Ant-Man & The Wasp is set in San Francisco. However the filming of the sequel was split between San Francisco and Atlanta, which meant there’s twice as many places for me to check for locations. Luckily, checking some location scouting reports during the filming dates of Ant-Man & The Wasp, I was able to discover the school used to film Brookemont Elementary School with relative ease.
The exteriors of Brookemont Elementary were shot on and around Samuel M. Inman Middle School in Atlanta. While having an entirely different name, the architecture is distinctive enough that I was able to confirm this was the place. This was the location Scott and Hope had to visit to get something from Cassie’s backpack that she took to school with her. But Inman Middle was only the exteriors of the school, not the interiors.
My assumption on interiors is twofold: if they appear to be a real location, they are assumed to be shot at the same location as the exterior location; If not, they are shot on a soundstage. Those were my assumptions for the inside of the school until I got issue #160 of Cinefex magazine. They mentioned that the interiors of Brookemont Elementary were shot at the Atlanta International School. A quick Google search, and a click on More Images, led to me discovering the hallways were indeed the same location.
I hope you enjoy watching Ant-Man & The Wasp and please check out the other locations I’ve found from that film at the link below or check out my previous writeup on the locations of the Ant-Man & The Wasp trailer!
