It’s Brewsday, live from the Apocalypse! Chris and Joe are comin’ at cha from separate Beatlabs to dig into the first arc from The Clone Wars final season, The Bad Batch arc! This episode looks at the first two episodes, “The Bad Batch,” and “A Distant Echo.” So grab your vintage collectors’ item porcelain knobs and let’s GO, Warheads! The Star Wars Party Starts NOW! It’s time for Brews and Blasters.
This is our last recorded episode before social distancing went into effect, so enjoy the echoes of a time before. We ask the hard-hitting questions in this episode, like, “Is the Ewok death scene the best acting in Star Wars?” and “Do the Knights of Ren smell bad?” The answer to both is probably yes. There’s also talk of breakfast at Wendy’s, James Spader, and the proper way to start a Sunday morning.
Hey everyone it’s BREWSDAY and that means the Star Wars party rolls on no matter what! We’re talking The Rise of Skywalker Novelization, Joe’s birthday dinner fit for a king, Wilfred Brimley autographs, a certain 5-year old prediction coming true(ish), 16-bit reenactments and a little band called The Hu.
On this, our milestone 250th show, Chris and Joe celebrate the increasing wackiness of the original Star Wars party, Joe’s 40th birthday as it occurs live on the show, and of course, the amazing announcement of Star Wars: The High Republic.
Jay Krebsbach, Yakface.com, aka the action-figure Master Codebreaker, returns to Brews and Blasters, to discuss what is going on with Star Wars action figures in the wake of New York Toy Fair 2020! Meanwhile, Joe discovers 21st century technology: food delivery, and Chris is drinking Mike’s Hard Apricot, but it might be pure garbage, can’t confirm.
You guys have left voicemails, emails, zmails and all other forms of communication, so we’re handing over the mics to you! Well, that’s not entirely true. We still have to talk about some sick General Grievous cosplay, a timeshare in hyperspace, Norm MacDonald in The Mandalorian, and of course, that documentary Ewan MacGregor did with Polar Bears.
Chris and Joe are back and it’s time to take account a great many things, starting with action figures and moving straight into our strategy for Star Wars: Galactic Cruiser. It may not look like much, but this episode’s got it where it counts!
After a brief discussion about the 1998 movie of the year, Dark City, Chris and Joe complete their initial review of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and lament the lack of Lobot. Plus, some thoughts on the working conditions of the Knights of Ren, and confirmation of some ideas Joe had years ago.
So, there’s a new Clone Wars trailer out–which we review, and there’s talk of Fanboys 2, which we discuss, yadda yadda yadda, but let’s get to why you’re partying with us: we’re drafting prototype action figures for The Last Starfighter for our collections, and hanging out with Tor Vallum and his baby head.
We continue our deep, deep dive into The Rise of Skywalker, going places no one would dare to. This episode features Chewie’s death, John Williams’ acting role, Ochi the creep, Zorri Bliss and the Pub Cheese room.
Season one of The Mandalorian wraps up with a bang, a weird-legged droid and a very special weapon. Who wins the “Determination, Perseverance” award this week? And, if you don’t show your face, why grow only a moustache?
