Marvel Cinematic Universe filming locations

Jovial Jay Shepard takes a tour through the various Marvel Cinematic Universe filming locations!

MCU Location Scout: Behind every scene in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a filming location. Some are iconic. Some are functional. Some are completely fantastic. But all Marvel Cinematic Universe filming locations are there to support the story.

Here at the MCU Location Scout, Jovial Jay digs deep to uncover the real-world filming locations behind your favorite super hero films. From Iron Man to Inhumans and everything in between! Check out any of the weekly updates below, follow MCU: Location Scout on Twitter, or jump right into the Map of all the MCU Filming Locations!

1942 Brooklyn

This week Agents of SHIELD: Case Files takes a look back at Captain America: The First Avenger, so here’s a cross-promotional look at the 1942 Brooklyn street scenes!

Wakanda Forest

To film the mysterious environments of Wakanda, the filmmakers didn’t need to leave the state of Georgia. The Wakanda Forest from the end of Avengers: Infinity War was shot in the lovely Tallulah Gorge State Park, part of the larger Chattahoochee National Forest covering part of Georgia and into Tennessee. Come see how this location was found!

Colleen Wing's Dojo

Colleen Wing’s Dojo, the Chikara Dojo, is located in the fringe areas of Chinatown – in the shadow of the Manhattan Bridge – and serves as Colleen’s apartment as well as her studio. To celebrate the Second Season of Iron Fist, dropping Friday, September 7, 2018, we present this look back at an iconic location from Season One.

Bifrost Bridge

Kenneth Branagh’s Thor is an incredible film. It introduces the MCU to Thor, Loki, Asgard & the Bifrost Bridge. And yet, even though a majority of the film takes place in mystical realms, the filmmakers still managed to use some very Earth-bound locations to film the action.

Central Park Bridle Path

The few locations in Avengers: Infinity War that were actually shot outside of a studio are few and far between. But regardless of where they seem to be, they were all (mostly) shot in Atlanta, GA – including the scenes of Tony and Pepper on the Central Park Bridle Path.

Stark Expo

To coincide with the discussion of Iron Man 2, on the Agents of SHIELD: Case Files podcast this week, MCU: Location Scout will be taking a look at the multiple locations that make up the Stark Expo.

Astoria Queens Alley

Last week I published a location from Doctor Strange, before news that Steve Ditko had passed away. It seems only fitting that I focus on Ditko’s other notable Marvel creation this week, with Spider-Man: Homecoming’s Astoria, Queens Alley.

Sometimes finding filming locations is not hard. Stephen Strange’s Apartment is a good example. But there’s definitely a satisfying moment when you can match up the film frame with a real life location!

PRIDE Construction Site

On the Hulu show Runaways, Geoffrey Wilder and his construction company supervise the construction of a new school in the middle of Compton, California for the PRIDE organization. However the PRIDE Construction Site is actually a front for something more mysterious.

St Theresa's Church

New Orleans provides a great backdrop for the filming of Cloak & Dagger. The historic buildings of the city (and not soundstages) make for some great locations, like St Theresa’s Church.

Avengers Facility

After the destruction of Avengers Tower in New York City in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the team decided to move to a new Avengers Facility in upstate New York, along the Hudson River. It has evolved over several films, until Captain America: Civil War, where it got some of its best screen time.

New Jersey State Line

Sometimes there are locations I search for all over, but never come up with anything. And some locations I put away, because I don’t think they are findable without inside information. The New Jersey State Line from Captain America: The Winter Soldier falls into this second category. But guess what?

Busan Street Chase

Welcome to this week’s MCU: Location Scout where I take you behind-the-locations of the Busan Street Chase from Black Panther. You won’t find this exclusive look at all the locations anywhere else, so buckle up and hold on tight! Wakanda Forever!
