I have purposefully stayed away from The Blair Witch Project. Marketing from the release of the film freaked me out enough and with the purported documentary nature of the film, along with it being set about an hour from my house, have kept me away, until now!
It’s been many years since I’ve seen Child’s Play so I wanted to revisit the original film for this years watch list.
Truth or Dare piqued the interest of both my wife and myself when the trailers came out last year. I didn’t have time to view it at that time. Fortunately I have the ability to watch it this year.
I haven’t seen Re-Animator in at least 25 years. But from what I recall, it’s a crazy, bloody riff on the Frankenstein mythology, updated with shock, gore and profanity!
The Purge: Election Year was a film I had on my list from last year that did not make the cut. It still seems like a timely film, and I’m interested to see how it holds up given the political climate in America.
According to the trailer for The Hills Have Eyes, this film will be the most shocking and terrifying film I’ll ever seen. I’ll be the judge of that!

Today I move to a more modern film which I not heard about until recently, while discussing this project with a co-worker. I like to find a balance of horror film types while doing this blog, picking films that I’ve not seen in the past couple years, or never at all. Also I like to pick films from different eras, and genres to explore the history of horror in a way.

To film the mysterious environments of Wakanda, the filmmakers didn’t need to leave the state of Georgia. The Wakanda Forest from the end of Avengers: Infinity War was shot in the lovely Tallulah Gorge State Park, part of the larger Chattahoochee National Forest covering part of Georgia and into Tennessee.
