New Rebels rumor from The Clone Wars. Ezra is scary. Mos Eisley is “Unreal.”

By Mike Audette //  There is a hot new Rebels rumor afoot. A new preview clip of Ezra shows how he’s grown. Mos Eisley is looking good thanks to some fans’ project.

Rebels rumor

Bo-Katan

It was a relatively slow news week until this story popped up. Another Clone Wars character looks like they’ll be returning to Rebels. Bo-Katan voice-actress Katee Sackoff, revealed at Oz Comic Con in Australia that she will be returning to reprise the character. Katan was a member of the Death Watch under the leadership of Pre Vizsla on Mandalore.

Seeing that we know that Sabine is part of Clan Vizsla, this move of Katan coming to Rebels makes a lot of sense. There is so much intrigue that comes from this move. Dave Filoni has said that Sabine’s mother was present when Maul fought Vizsla and killed Duchess Satine (spoiler?). Katan was there. In the season three trailer, Sabine is seen with the Darksaber. Maul was the last owner of the Darksaber in the Son of Dathomir comic series. There’s a spiderweb of connections here and I can’t wait to see how it’s navigated this season.

Ezra Clip

In this new season three preview clip, Ezra shows off his growing powers. Apparently he is now using the Force to take out Stormtroopers in new and unique ways. I say apparently because I don’t watch any of the Rebels preview clips for new episodes. I’ll watch trailers no problem, but the little 30 to 45 second clips I just skip watching. I’d rather watch it in the episode in full context.

Seeing Ezra’s maturation and growth in the Force in this season is going to be really interesting to watch. The season two finale set up a whole lot of things for him with his interactions with Maul and the Holocron as well as Kanan’s transformation. I really wonder how it’s going to play out in this threesome (hey, mind out of the gutter.) Season three premieres on DisneyXD Saturday the 24th.

Mos Eisley

A group of intrepid Star Wars fans (and game developers) used their skills to create the famous hive of scum and villainy. Created by Jason Lewis and his team of artists from Obsidian, you can see what Mos Eisley looks inside of the Unreal Engine. Jason set off on his own to just make a replication of the Falcon but decided he wanted to then make the entire city and recruited help to make it a reality. Check out the video below which explores the Cantina, Docking Bay 94 and other locales within the cityscape.
