By Mike Audette //  30 more days. Only 30 more days until The Force Awakens is finally upon us, and the fans are starting to get restless. A lot of chatter this past week was whether or not you have personally seen enough of what you need to see for the lead up to the film. For those who feel they’ve seen enough, remember: the target audience for the marketing campaign is for every casual fan and average movie goer.

Entertainment Weekly had one of those big “Star Wars” weeks again. There were a ton of articles and photo sets revealing some new things for The Force Awakens. One of the more exciting posts was about the background of Maz Kanata, who has been kicking around the galaxy for 1,000 years. Besides Kylo Ren, I’m most intrigued to find out Maz’s backstory over any other new character in the film.

Star Wars Rebels aired the Hera-centric episode I have been waiting for. Vanessa Marshall’s performance in “Wings Of The Master” was one of the best voice acting efforts we’ve seen in Star Wars, period. Introducing the B-Wing’s origin into canon, Rebels Recon revealed why we don’t see the B-Wing or this certain group of Rebels during the Battle of Yavin, as Pablo and Dave let us know that the Rebel Alliance didn’t fully come together until the final assault at the Battle of Endor. Star Wars Rebels tying everything together in the OT–gotta love it.

Not to be undone by the previous week’s female-led Rebels episode, “Blood Sisters” showed a new look into Sabine’s backstory. Her former “sister,” a friend close enough to be considered blood, resurfaces to reveal some secrets of Sabine’s past. Through this we learn that she was a bounty hunter during her time from leaving the Imperial Academy to joining the Ghost crew. Holy crap that makes Sabine so much MORE of a badass.

That’s all this week! -Mike Audette
