Star Wars Battlefront Audette Set Thanksgiving

By Mike Audette //  This week can be pretty much summed up in one word: BATTLEFRONT! Star Wars Battlefront, from EA and DICE, took the world by storm this past week. Thousands and thousands of gamers have been rejoicing in the highly anticipated releases of this game and it has been amazing! As you can see in the screenshot above (taken by yours truly, CC7567Rex501st on PSN) this game is bar none, one of the most visually stunning Star Wars materials to come out in recent years. While paying through the game you experience authentic and vivid scenes of what I would imagine it to be like to be a Rebel soldier fighting on the forest moon of Endor or piloting a TIE Fighter on Hoth.

In The Force Awakens news this week, we officially had the release of what the film will be rated by the MPAA when it hits theaters. TFA will be the second ever Star Wars movie to be rated PG-13. This certainly sparked a lot of conversation throughout the fandom with some being understanding of the rating given the landscape of way cinema is today and some pointing out, very valid, that Star Wars has been a story for children and a PG-13 seems to put them out of viewing-range. Assuming that none of you out there have seen the movie yet, it definitely is to early to tell what the movie will contain and what could be the cause for the PG-13 rating. Revenge of the Sith garnered a PG-13 rating from Anakin’s ‘Immolation’ scene so it could be something close to that that just bumps it over the PG limit.

It’s Thanksgiving in America and we Star Wars fans have quite a lot to be thankful for. We’re less than a month away from a brand new film, video games are back in full Force, Rebels is proving to get better an better with each episode, and this is just the beginning. While enjoying time with your friends and families, don’t forget to thank Star Wars for all it’s given us: new friends, old memories, and lifetimes of adventure and excitement!
