By Mike Audette //  On Friday, in an exclusive story to Comic Book Resources, announced that The Force Awakens will be getting its own 5-issue adaptation mini-series! The series will be launching this coming June and be written by the Aftermath-trilogy author Chuck Wendig and with art being provided by Marvel veteran Luke Ross. I’m very much looking forward to reading this to see what, if anything new, we can learn from The Force Awakens. I was a huge fan of Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath and his writing style and cant wait to see what he can do with the likes of Rey, Finn, Kylo, Han and the rest of the characters. If you don’t already follow Chuck on Twitter, I would highly recommend it because he hilarious and posts awesome dog pictures.

This week on Twitter, Peter Mayhew, announced that he will be posting images of the original script to “The Adventures of Luke Starkiller as taken from the ‘Journal of the Whills.'” leading up to a big reveal at the end. Peter Mayhew has been one of the greatest Star Wars ambassadors over the years and this is a really cool idea that gives fans a new look into what the process was like back in 1976.

While Peter didn’t play every scene of Chewbacca in The Force Awakens, he will be involved in the filming for Episode VIII and recently cancelled some convention appearances to head to London to be on hand for the beginning of filming last week. What could be coming at the end of this fun little project from Chewbacca himself? Some information on VIII? A giveaway of the script? Only time will tell!

If you live within driving distance from Boston, I suggest you plan on making a trip to the city this spring. John Williams served as the Principal Conductor for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, also known as the Boston Pops, from 1980 to 1993 while composing not only the scores for The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi but numerous other films during his tenure. Williams will be returning to Boston this coming May 12th and 13th where he will be conducting themes and pieces from the Star Wars films and others including Jurassic Park, Jaws, and Indiana Jones. I am so excited for this opportunity to see a living legend conduct one of the most famous orchestras in the nation, while also happening to hear some of my favorite tracks from all the Star Wars films.

Continuing with a Boston theme, here we have a story coming from the Globe featuring a Harvard professor and his book about how Star Wars is relatable to actual life events from history, rebellion, politics, and law to even parenthood. Cass Sunstein, a professor at Harvard University in Cambridge and former head of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs under President Obama, was approached to write a book that analyzed things such as economic policy and Supreme Court decisions using story lines from Star Wars. The tile of the book is The World According to Star Wars and is supposed to be due out this coming May. I will definitely be looking forward to picking up this book in May (which is available for pre-order) to see what I can learn using Star Wars!
