It’s time for the Animanicast: Discussing Discussing Freakazoid Episodes 6 and 7 “The Chip” and “Freakazoid is History”

Joey, Nathan and Kelly decide to take on the epic task of tackling two episodes at once by discussing both the sixth and seventh episode of season one of Freakazoid!
Each week, Joey, Nathan and Kelly revisit an episode of Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures, Pinky and the Brain, or Freakazoid! Today the hosts discuss episode 6 and 7 of Freakazoid which features Freakazoid’s origins in “The Chip” and a Quantum Leap parody “Freakazoid is History.”
The Chip Part 1
Otherwise known as the sixth episode of Freakazoid, Nathan takes up the task of trying to explain the whole episode while choking on popcorn. This episode introduces fan favorite characters Armondo Guitierrez and Rody MacStew as well features the first speaking lines of Dexter’s older brother Duncan Douglas. This is the segment to give us the answer to the question “How did Freakzoid get his powers?”
The Chip Part 2
The first half of the seventh episode features part two of “The Chip.” This segments features Freakazoid’s first interaction with Cosgrove, and the audience finds out his motivation on why Freakazoid decided to become a superhero! Plus, there’s a reference to Steven Spielberg which Kelly appreciates.
Freakazoid is History
In the closing segment, Freakazoid travels back in time to prevent the Pearl Harbor attack, altering the course of history. This segment is chock full of references including Quantum Leap, Davy Crockett, Ben-Hur, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Saturday Night Fever, North by Northwest, The Graduate, The Sound of Music, Hello Dolly!, The Defiant Ones, and Steven Spielberg‘s Jaws.
