A homemade Star Wars Christmas, what’s that? Sometimes, the most meaningful gifts are those that do not have a price tag on them. Homemade is the best made. I mean, when someone takes the time to make something especially for you, well, it’s a gift from the heart. And, well, in my opinion, that makes it priceless.
So, my mom has been preparing a special Christmas gift for me since the summer. She has a talent for crafting, such as drawing, painting ceramics, making clothes, and crocheting afghans. Oh, yeah, did I forget to mention that it was her who introduced me to the galaxy far, far away? Yeah, guilty as charged. No, seriously, my mom is solely responsible for planting the seeds of my ever-growing love for Star Wars, which segues nicely into my homemade Star Wars Christmas.
As I said above, a gift from the heart cannot be compared to anything store bought. It’s irreplaceable, and it’s sentimental value only increases over time. That said, my mom, who I look up more than anyone, is making something for me that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. On her accord and without my asking, she took it upon herself to create a pattern for an afghan that screams my love for Star Wars. And as a Leukemia and Congestive Heart Disease warrior, this is no easy feat for her to tackle. Again, I’m blown away by her love and constant devotion for me, even after forty-four years!
I’m grateful to have been blessed with such a selfless and giving woman to be my mother. She gives without any thought of reward. Yes, that’s a Star Wars reference. So, without further ado, feast your eyes on the makings of this incredible, in-the-making, and one-of-a-kind Star Wars blanket made by a superstar in her own right, my mom! And yes, it’s true, the strongest of stars have hearts of Kyber.
