YouTube is amazing.
I was reading an article this evening about Jimmy Fallon and Neil Young doing a duet of the amazing song “Old Man,” and three ideas struck me.
First, it is just a legendary song: simple, clear, and poignant, with a heart-wrenching bittersweet quality to it. Second, Fallon is quite the singer. Third, even though Neil wrote the song in 1971, the lyrics of this song feel a lot like they are talking about Luke and Anakin.
So I think to myself, “I need to make a Star Wars music video set to this song! But first: to learn nonlinear video editing!”
Instead, I check YouTube, and find that someone did this exact thing in 2008, and did it perfectly. Seriously, it gives me chills how well it works.
