In Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars, the Battle of Coruscant begins as Shaak-Ti defends the Chancellor from Grievous while Anakin aids the Nelvaanians.
Our ongoing series focusing on Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars has reached the penultimate episodes of the series with chapters 23 & 24. The Separatists launch their daring attack on Coruscant. Mace Windu and Yoda rally the Clone Troopers to defend the planet. Meanwhile, Shaak-Ti and other Jedi must get the Chancellor to safety while General Grievous and his Magna Droids are in pursuit. On Nelvaan, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker listen to the plight of the Nelvaanians before Anakin embarks on a Trial of Spirit as he seeks to aid them.
On this fully armed and operational episode, we discuss:
- The opening maneuvers of the Battle of Coruscant,
- How Saesee Tiin has a rarely heard voice in these chapters,
- Obi-Wan’s relationship with Qui-Gon Jinn revealed in a passing line of dialogue,
- The continuing legendary and mythological feel of the series,
- Mace Windu’s chariot ride on a Vulture droid,
- Anakin’s exposure to the bruise leeches,
- Shaak-Ti and the Jedi’s defense of the Chancellor,
- Roron Corobb’s (the Ithorian Jedi) Force throat attack, and
- Anakin’s vision in the cave on Nelvaan.
